On July 28, 2017, the V Economic Forum-Ukraine-Korea was held. The platform for discussion was the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The priority topics of discussion during the forum were interaction between countries, changing economic cooperation, promoting investment, sharing experience in the agricultural sector and cooperation in the high technology sector. In addition, the subject of the discussion was the joint ideas and projects in different segments of the economy of both countries.
Stepan Kubiv, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine opened Forum with salutatory where he noted:

Mr. Lee Yang Goo Ambassador, Republic of Korea to Ukraine Noted the close interaction of state structures and innovative specialists of Ukraine and emphasize the needs for further cooperation.
Mykhailo Zgurovsky – Rector, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – presented an expert study of eight scenarios of Ukraine’s economic development in the medium-term (until 2020) and long-term (until 2030) perspective, identified drivers of Ukraine’s economic development, as well as the likelihood of implementing these scenarios
Un-Chan Chung – Former Prime Minister, Republic of Korea – During his speech, said: “Ukraine is located in a strategically important region of Eurasia and has rich natural resources. The Republic of Korea is considered to be a potential partner for economic cooperation for Ukraine. Similarly, Korea is also a good strategic partner of Ukraine in the field of infrastructure, traditional and alternative energy, finance, agriculture, construction, ICT, etc. “, and also:” … I would like to emphasize that the experience of the Republic of Korea in the field of rapid economic growth , The income inequality and the inclusion of the concept of “general growth” will also apply to the Ukrainian economy. “
A number of panel discussion took place during the Forum. All speakers highlighted the importance and relevance of the topics for both countries: strengthening economic cooperation between Korea and Ukraine, trade and economic cooperation and investment promotion. Promoting international cooperation in the field of ICT and supporting interstate and multicultural startups between the Republic of Korea and Ukraine, an innovative ecosystem «Sikorsky Challenge» ,development and Smart City. The forum brought together representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of Ukraine, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as key players and businessmen of the Ukrainian and Korean markets.
Within the framework of the event, the location of StartUp solutions was worked out, where projects for agrarian business, medicine, alternative types of energy and safety of electronic devices were demonstrated.
